Show Me Chord ("SMC", "we", "our", or "us") is a piano chord app operated by Acantivo. This policy explains what data the current app setup collects, how it is used, and what choices are available to you.

1. Services Used By The App

The current app integrates services from Google Firebase and Google Mobile Ads, including Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Functions, Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, and Google Mobile Ads / User Messaging Platform (UMP).

2. Information We Collect

Depending on how you use the app, we may collect or store the following categories of data:

  • Account information such as your email address and Firebase account identifier when you create or use an account.
  • Chord data and app preferences stored on your device, including saved chord lists, privacy choices, and tutorial-completion state.
  • Cloud-synced account data for signed-in users, including saved chords, tutorial state, and privacy settings stored in our Firebase project.
  • Feedback you submit in the app, including subject, message details, your user ID, your email address if available, timestamps, and platform.
  • Usage analytics where enabled by your consent and app settings.
  • Crash and diagnostic information used to monitor app stability.
  • Advertising-related signals used to request personalized or non-personalized ads depending on your settings and applicable consent state.

3. Accounts And Authentication

The current app supports email/password authentication through Firebase Authentication. We use that information to create accounts, sign you in, send password-reset emails, and send email-verification links where required.

4. Privacy Controls, Ads, And Analytics

The app includes in-app privacy settings and uses Google UMP to manage consent where required. You can review and change these choices inside the app under Profile → Privacy Settings.

  • If privacy-protected mode is enabled, the app requests non-personalized ads and does not enable analytics collection.
  • If you enable personalized experience options, analytics and ad-personalization settings may be turned on based on your selections and consent state.
  • The app applies child-directed ad settings when privacy-protected mode is enabled, including restricted ad treatment and family-appropriate ad content limits.

The current app code treats privacy-protected mode as a user setting. It is not automatically applied to every unknown visitor by default.

5. Crash Reports And Diagnostics

The current app sends crash and stability diagnostics to Firebase Crashlytics to help us detect failures, monitor reliability, and fix bugs. At the moment, crash diagnostics are not controlled by the analytics toggle inside the app.

6. Saved Chords, Preferences, And Local Storage

The app stores some data locally on your device using local preferences. This may include privacy selections, tutorial progress, and saved chord lists. If you are signed in, some of that information may also be synced to Cloud Firestore so it can persist with your account.

7. Feedback And Support

If you send feedback through the app, we store the message content you submit together with account identifiers available to us at that time, such as your user ID and email address. We use this information to respond to issues, review feature requests, and improve the app.

8. Account Deletion And Data Requests

You can request deletion from inside the app through Profile → Delete account. The current deletion flow attempts to remove your Firebase Authentication account and associated records such as user documents, saved cloud data, and storage files used by the app.

If you want to request a manual privacy review or data-access request, contact us using the privacy email link below. The app does not currently provide a self-service data export feature.

9. Children And Family Settings

The app includes a privacy-protected mode intended to reduce personalization features. When that mode is enabled, personalized ads and analytics are disabled and ad requests are tagged more conservatively. If you are a parent or guardian and want to discuss a child user's data, contact us using the email link below.

10. How We Use Information

We use collected information to operate accounts, sync saved app data, provide password-reset and verification flows, serve ads, monitor reliability, review feedback, and improve the app.

11. Changes To This Policy

We may update this policy as the app changes. The current version will always be posted at this page with a revised “Last updated” date.
